About the role

Amazon is seeking an experienced events manager to drive strategy and production for global internal events focused on Amazon’s corporate employees. Amazon has a long history of bringing employees together through events to connect with one another and leaders, feel appreciated, learn new things about the company, and feel proud to be an Amazonian.

In this role on the Internal Corporate Communications (ICC) team, you will be responsible for leading a team of event producers, content creators, and program managers in developing and executing key corporate events like All-Amazon Global Meetings, executive fireside chats, and employee-engagement events at our major offices. This individual should be a creative, organized event manager who can work across teams and with executives, with a strong understanding of how to use events as a corporate communications channel.

Our ideal candidate is a highly motivated and very organized individual with experience managing complex projects across a number of geographies and with multiple stakeholders. They will have a track record of developing event strategies, building content, managing against tight timelines, juggling multiple programs simultaneously, being highly organized, and having excellent interpersonal and written communication skills. They should be proficient in marketing events and driving attendance, as well as in measuring the impact of events.

Key job responsibilities
•Develop a cohesive event strategy for global internal events that make corporate employees feel proud to be Amazonians
•Integrate events as an effective communications channel for broader ICC initatives.
•Set goals and objectives for each event, defining and reporting on ROI and key measures of success.
•Oversee production and delivery of all event deliverables (e.g., content and presentation development, speaker support, set design, marketing, and event technology).
•Establish a center of excellence for internal events, delivering best practices, playbooks, and a forum to exchange ideas as a resource for internal-events colleagues across Amazon.
•Manage a team of six full-time employees, setting a vision for the team, establishing ways of working, driving ongoing process improvement, and providing coaching and growth opportunities.
•Partner with ICC country leads on local events, including all-country meetings, and provide counsel to internal comms leads across Worldwide Comms (WWC) who manage all-org meetings (e.g., All-AWS meetings).
•Manage agency relationships, ensuring a high quality bar.

Basic Qualifications


- 10+ years of relevant work experience in large-scale event management and project management
- Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Marketing, or a related field

Preferred Qualifications

- Excellent writing skills, with the ability to think and communicate clearly, formulate a clear point of view on complicated issues, and create a concise and well-written narrative
- An excellent communicator who can articulate recommendations and tradeoffs to key stakeholders, and drive consensus.
- Ability to generate big, creative ideas, and also execute them.
- Ability to work with all levels of employees, including senior leaders.
- Ability to manage multiple, competing priorities with a sense of urgency in a dynamic environment.
- Proven analytical and data-driven decision-making capabilities.
- Willing to roll up one’s sleeves to get work done, even when at times it’s outside the scope of the job.
- Collaborative attitude and ability to stay calm under pressure.
- Experience working within a multi-national company and at least one organization with 50,000+ employees.
- Able to exercise high judgment and deliver results, particularly in narrow time-frames.

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $124,900/year in our lowest geographic market up to $232,400/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
