Job Description
The Maintenance Technician is responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, repairing, and improving manufacturing equipment used in production operations. This role ensures equipment reliability, maximizes production uptime, and supports safe, efficient, and high-quality manufacturing processes while adhering to all safety, environmental, and operational standards.
HOW YOU WILL MAKE AN IMPACT
- Performs preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance on manufacturing equipment to ensure safe and reliable operation.
- Conducts routine inspections and condition assessments to identify potential equipment issues before failures occur.
- Diagnoses mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and control system malfunctions using appropriate diagnostic tools and troubleshooting techniques.
- Repairs, replaces, adjusts, and aligns machinery components to restore equipment performance and reliability.
- Responds promptly to equipment breakdowns and emergency maintenance requests to minimize production downtime.
- Collaborates with production, engineering, and reliability teams to improve equipment performance and support operational objectives.
- Maintains accurate maintenance records, work orders, inspection reports, and equipment history within the company's maintenance management system.
- Identifies recurring equipment issues and recommends corrective actions to improve reliability, maintainability, and overall equipment effectiveness (OEE).
- Supports Root Cause Failure Analysis (RCFA) activities and participates in continuous improvement initiatives.
- Safely operates and maintains hand tools, power tools, precision measuring instruments, and specialized manufacturing equipment.
- Adheres to all company safety policies, Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures, environmental requirements, and quality standards.
- Supports maintenance performance objectives and contributes to the continuous improvement of key maintenance metrics, including Mean Time Between Failure (MTBF) and Mean Time to Repair (MTTR).
- Assists with special projects and performs other duties as assigned by maintenance leadership or management.
Qualifications
WHAT YOU BRING TO THE ROLE
- Associate of Applied Science (AAS) degree in Mechatronics, Electrical Maintenance, Mechanical Maintenance, Industrial Maintenance, or a related technical field; or a minimum of four (4) years of industrial maintenance experience.
- Working knowledge of basic pneumatic systems, including components, controls, and troubleshooting techniques.
- Understanding of low-voltage electrical control circuits and the ability to safely diagnose and repair related issues.
- Demonstrated problem-solving skills with strong analytical and troubleshooting abilities.
- Proficiency in the use of hand tools, power tools, multimeters, and other maintenance diagnostic equipment.
- Solid understanding of preventive maintenance practices, equipment operation, and industrial safety procedures.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to maintain accurate and detailed maintenance records and documentation.
- Excellent attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality workmanship.
- Ability to prioritize tasks, manage time effectively, and perform in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across departments.
- Physical ability to perform maintenance duties, including lifting equipment and components, climbing, bending, kneeling, and working in confined or elevated spaces as required.
- Ability to work 12 hour rotating shifts – days, nights, and weekends
