Minimum salary for this position is $8,500 per semester for a four-credit course.

The University of Michigan-Flint is seeking a Lecturer I to teach the undergraduate course listed in this posting during the Winter 2026 semester.  

Responsibilities

PSY 322-01 is a 4-credit face-to-face course that will meet on the University of Michigan-Flint campus twice a week, on Monday and Wednesday 12:30PM-02:10PM. The applicant must be available to teach on campus during the times specified for live instruction and for weekly office hours (at least 1 office hour per week). All courses are accompanied by a Canvas course shell, used for class announcements, grade calculations, housing class materials and resources, and, as appropriate, assignments and online communication.

 PSY 322 Basic Statistics & Probability (PSY 322-01)

Catalog Description: Introduction to descriptive and inferential statistics, including measures of central tendency and variability, standard scores, t-tests, the Pearson r, ANOVA, chi-square tests, hypothesis testing, and the statistical and practical significance of research findings. Students learn to perform quantitative statistical procedures using statistical software packages and appropriately interpret the outcomes of these analyses.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications

Prospective candidates should minimally possess a master’s degree in psychology. Graduate work must have been completed within a regionally accredited college or university (accrediting agency recognized by the U.S Department of Education or comparable organization for international institutions). Evidence of relevant teaching experience is required. 

Desired Qualifications

ABD status or PhD in psychology preferred. Preference for candidates with a record of presentation and/or publication in peer reviewed psychology outlets, training in pedagogical approaches and methodologies, and experience using online learning platforms.
