APPLIED DATA SCIENTIST at Vitestro
As an Applied Data Scientist, you will report to the pilot team lead Pascal Wolkotte. As part of the software team you will be surrounded by smart, passionate, loyal, goal driven and highly skilled people – working together towards cutting edge solutions.
You will need to be creative as you have to understand how to find information in a large amount of gathered data. You stay informed of the advancements in the field of data science and understand the overall behavior of our device and its constraints. You will be presenting the results to the stakeholders inside and outside the software team in an understandable manner. These results are based on information that is known by the different peers in the hardware and software team. Your task will be to generate meaningful insights to help improve the overall performance of the device.
Your key responsibilities
- Improve our understanding of device performance with a focus on blood draw success and procedure time reduction.
- Transform data from our data lake into useful information that can be used by your peer software engineers to be used in real-time action planning on the device
- Support software and system engineers in providing meaningful insights in information collected by devices during clinical trials and at our customers
- Contribute to clinical trials by define relevant study metrics and cooperate with other software team members to collect the relevant data
- Improve our data analysis platform in cooperation with our data engineer
- Stay in touch with recent developments in the (medical / robotic) data analysis

Requirements
What you will bring
- At least 5 years of experience in data-science experience (e.g., managing structured and unstructured data, applying statistical techniques and reporting results)
- Strong knowledge of the python programming language
- It would be great if you brought some experience of data science at a medical device company to the table
- MSc or PhD in the computer science, applied physics, or related field
- Proficiency in English is essential
