Supervises field crew in maintaining a large helicopter, its component parts and the ground support equipment needed for the job. Maintains the aircraft to ensure it is in an airworthy condition.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- 40% Performs maintenance & inspection activities on aircraft and support equipment. Schedules and conducts major component changes and test flights.
- 20% Supervises maintenance crew performing repairs and inspections of aircraft and support equipment in absence of Crew Chief.
- 15% Ensures that all log books and forms recording the work performed are accurate and are maintained to FAA and CHI standards.
- 15% Provides on the job training to other employees.
- 5% Coordinates crew and equipment movement and logistics for aircraft operation from site to site.
- 5% Schedules work shifts and duty time for crew members.
- Performs work safely and utilizes the appropriate technical data for the assigned task.
- Other duties as assigned.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
- Supervisor or management experience preferred with demonstrated leadership skills and ability to train and coach employees
- A&P certificate required.
- Meet the training requirements of GP-105 manual or applicable PQS manual.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills to be able present ideas, concepts and proposals with a wide range of audiences at all levels both internal and external to the company.
- Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
- Ability to work independently and in a team-oriented environment.
- Ability to access all portions of aircraft for maintenance and inspection purposes.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office applications.
- Maintain a valid Driver’s license (To drive company vehicles).
