About The Job
We are currently seeking a part time, As-Needed, experienced and highly qualified senior environmental compliance specialist (3+ years’ experience or the equivalent) to join our Central Valley (Fresno)-based team.
The ideal candidate will have experience with technical writing and reporting, providing feedback to peers, and familiarity with Central Valley endemic species. Excellent communication skills (written and verbal) and organizational skills are essential.

About The Job

Duties and Responsibilities (may include some or all of the below):
- Fieldwork throughout the Central Valley
- As-needed biological surveys and environmental compliance services at construction sites
- Preparing and reviewing environmental documentation that will be used for both permitting and ensuring compliance with permit conditions during construction and operations
- Work closely with project managers and environmental resource specialists to complete QA/QC of survey reports, field records, and compliance documentation
- Regular communication with natural resource technical specialists as well as Project Managers.
- MS or PhD or equivalent
- Highly organized with the ability to multi-task.
- Possess sound judgement and able to “think-on-your-feet”.
- Self-motivated with an interest to learn and grow as a project team.
- Previous experience conducting / leading field surveys
- Understanding of environmental regulations.
- Qualified biologist to survey and monitor for special-status wildlife and plant species, including for nesting birds.
- Has experience executing species-specific regulatory protocols.
- Holds special-status species permit and/or certification(s).
- Has experience performing final QA/QC of technical reporting and compliance documents.
- Has experience identifying common and rare plan species and/or using dichotomous keys to identify plants
- Must possess a valid driver’s license and have active personal automobile liability insurance by first day of employment.

Working Conditions:
- This job operates in a remote or office-based environment and this role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, printers, etc.
- This job requires project site visits-based outdoors which can include excessive noise, uneven walking surfaces, extreme weather, moving vehicles and equipment.
- This job requires working on a computer, sitting or standing for long periods of time in an office or remote office setting.
