Clearance: TS/SCI

Salary Range: $150,000.00 - $175,000.00 (Negotiable Depending on Experience)

Position Summary:

Command Cyber Solutions is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Systems Engineer to support the design, integration, and maintenance of enterprise IT systems. The Systems Engineer will possess a strong technical background in system architecture, configuration management, and performance optimization. As a Systems Engineer, you will play a key role in ensuring systems are secure, scalable, and reliable while collaborating with cross-functional teams to support the development, deployment, and sustainment of complex infrastructure and applications environments.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

• Design, implement, and maintain enterprise systems including servers, storage, and virtualization platforms.

• Provide end-to-end system engineering support throughout the lifecycle, from requirements gathering through operations and maintenance.

• Integrate systems and applications across physical, virtual, and cloud environments (e.g., AWS, Azure, and VMware).

• Monitor system performance, conduct root cause analysis, and apply patches and upgrades to maintain system health.

• Develop and maintain documentation for system configuration, architecture diagrams, and operational procedures.

• Ensure compliance with security policies, data protection standards, and federal regulations (e.g., NIST, FISMA, FedRAMP).

• Support backup and recovery planning, business continuity, and disaster recovery testing.

• Collaborate with network engineers, cybersecurity personnel, and developers to support secure and resilient IT solutions.

• Automate routine tasks and system provisioning using scripting languages or infrastructure-as-code tools (e.g., PowerShell, Ansible, Terraform).

• Participate in change control, configuration management, and performance tuning activities.

   

Education, Certification & Experience Requirements:

Education Required:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Systems Engineering, Information Technology, Computer Science or related field.

Certification Required:

• CompTIA Security+ (Required).

• Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator, AWS Certified SysOps Administrator, VMware VCP, or Red Hat Certified System Administrator (Preferred).

Experience Required:

• 7+ years of experience in systems engineering, systems administration, or IT infrastructure roles.

• Strong knowledge of Windows and/or Linux operating systems, virtualized environments, and enterprise storage solutions.

• Experience with cloud infrastructure platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP) and hybrid deployments.

• Familiarity with configuration management tools (e.g., Ansible, Puppet, Chef), monitoring tools (e.g., SolarWinds, Nagios), and ticketing systems (e.g., ServiceNow, Jira).

• Working knowledge of networking, identity, credential, and access management (ICAM).

• Ability to troubleshoot complex technical issues and lead root cause investigations.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

• Knowledge of enterprise system architecture, virtualization, and cloud operations.

• Knowledge of systems hardening, patch management, and baseline security configurations.

• Skill in system troubleshooting, performance analysis, and technical documentation.

• Skill in scripting and automation to improve efficiency and reduce manual errors.

• Ability to translate complex requirements into functional system designs and implement them effectively.

• Ability to manage multiple systems and tasks in high-availability, fast-paced environments.

• Ability to work collaboratively with cross-disciplinary teams and communicate technical information clearly.
