FLEXIBLE HOURS- Registered Nurse

SUMMARY: 

Full-time and Part-time flexible hours available. Please include availability and desired schedule in application.

The Per Diem Nurse will report to managing Contrast Coverage Radiologist to support and monitor MRI and CT patients where intravascular contrast agents are utilized.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

•  Managing acute hypersensitivity and physiologic drug reactions. This may be done using diagnostic decision-making or by use of a symptom- and sign-driven treatment algorithm as is commonly used by nursing.
• Appropriately administering reassurance, oxygen, antihistamine, intravenous fluids, beta2-agonist inhaler, epinephrine, and/or position changes
• Understanding when to call for assistance and how to activate emergency response system(s)
• Managing the important findings/stat task list and calling referring Physicians as needed to obtain patient information
• Communication of results and follow up instructions with mammography patients at Breast Imaging Center site
• Patient follow-up post procedure
• Maintain documentation and follow up on pathology reports

 

BASIC KNOWLEDGE: 

•  Use judgement to call for assistance and activate emergency response system(s) when needed.
• Interpersonal skills to interact effectively with patients who may be under physical and/or emotional stress, referring physicians and staff, the radiologist, fellow employees, suppliers and service representatives and any and all others who they come in contact with during the course of the business day.
• Demonstrated knowledge and skill necessary to provide proper patient care.
• Demonstrated knowledge and skills to perform procedure/ policy by governing bodies and RIMI protocol.

 

EDUCATION:

Graduate of an accredited school of Nursing, Valid RI license, CPR and BLS certification.

 

EXPERIENCE:

Three plus years of experience contrast coverage preferred.
