Job Description Qualifications:

The Boeing Company is currently seeking a Software Engineering Manager (Virtual) to join the Boeing Software Factory Cloud Ecosystem team located in Centennial, CO.

The Boeing Software Factory (BSF) is rapidly adding new users and programs! The Cloud Ecosystem team is responsible for maintaining the cloud infrastructure that supports the BSF and the thousands of software engineers that depend on it. This position will be responsible for managing the team that is tasked with user support and identifying ways to improve the user experience for our products. The ideal candidate will be someone that has previous team leadership experience, is detail oriented, and has excellent organizational skills.

This position has been identified as a virtual opportunity and does not require applicants to live in Centennial, CO.

Position Responsibilities:

• Manager for the Boeing Software Factory Cloud Ecosystem Operations and User Support Team
• Team lead for Cloud Operations and User Support Team
• Run agile meetings (scrum, backlog grooming, etc...)
• Responsible for maintaining team’s backlog along with ensuring that user support requests are being completed in a timely manner
• Responsible for monitoring the team's velocity and ensuring tasks are completed on time to support project objectives
• Clearly communicate risks, areas for improvement, and help needed with Cloud Ecosystem manager and Product Owners
• Ensure tasks are clearly identified and communicated to engineers and ensure tasks are completed in a timely manner
• Identify priorities on the backlog and ensure that tasks are assigned to engineers and worked to completion to support the priorities captured in the backlog

Security Clearance and Export Control Requirements:

This position must meet export control compliance requirements. To meet export control compliance requirements, a “U.S. Person” as defined by 22 C.F.R. §120.15 is required.  “U.S. Person” includes U.S. Citizen, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee.  

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/ Experience):

• Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology (includes manufacturing engineering technology), chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science
• 3+ years of experience in a technical leadership role (tech lead, scrum master, etc...)
• 2+ years of experience developing software products in a cloud computing environment e.g. Azure/AWS/Google Cloud

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

• 2+ years of experience with AWS
• Previous experience working directly with customers to resolve issues
• Familiarity with Agile software development methodologies
• Previous experience with Salt configuration management
• Previous experience with Gitlab and Gitlab CI
• Previous experience interacting with customers to improve their user experience
