A Brief Overview
Pharmacy Operations Manager, will be responsible for the maintenance and uptime of the Automation and Production equipment in the Dispensing Pharmacy. Responsible to ensure the equipment (electrical & mechanical) is running at optimal capacity and in a safe manner. Work with the Dispensing Team to ensure the achievement of production and quality goals. Develops, monitors, and tracks operating budget. Manages staff development to ensure a high performing team. Plan, direct, and coordinate activities for all mechanical and electrical/electronic aspects of machinery maintenance. Utilizing an onsite Preventative/Predictive Maintenance CMMS software, ensure execution of tasks by the maintenance team to identify and repair machinery issues before they impact production up time. Assist in the creation of the annual capital plan to proactively replace equipment at end of life, plan and execute the installation of new equipment.
What you will do
- Ensures quality and consistency in the maintenance and repairs of grounds, exterior structures, buildings, equipment, and related utilities.
- Executes complex work on malfunctioning equipment required to restore machinery to satisfactory operating conditions.
- Ensures safety and compliance in the work environment by eliminating potential equipment safety hazards and adhering to regulatory standards.
- Develops emergency plans, and maintains physical preparedness designs to assist and protect employees in emergency situations.
- Administers asset management system work orders and assesses entries for quality and compliance standards.
- Contributes to the team's education by coaching team members on basic maintenance, safety, and troubleshooting procedures.
- Directs operations of the maintenance department and monitors the performance of the staff's assigned responsibilities.
- Manages team performance through regular, timely feedback as well as the formal performance review process to develop departmental capabilities and ensure the delivery of exceptional services.
- Coaches more junior colleagues in techniques, processes, and responsibilities.
For this role you will need Minimum Requirements
- Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Strong Leadership, Developing Teams, Advanced knowledge of all phases of Automation or Equipment Maintenance operations including electrical, maintenance, operations and safety.
- Strong Project Management skills to coordinate equipment updates and improvements.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Proficient computer skills to include Preventive Maintenance Software, Microsoft Project and Excel. Ability to manage direct employees.
- Strong leadership skills.
- Foster and maintain a safety culture within the Maintenance organization. Assist in the development and enforcement of safety regulations, programs, and policies. Support efforts to implement corrective actions and remain in compliance.
- Develop and implement policies, standards and procedures for the engineering and technical work performed in the Pharmacy.
- Plan and direct the installation, testing, operation, maintenance, and repair of equipment.
- Organize resources and establish priorities to reach desired objectives.
- Track the performance of the Maintenance System.
- See that the maintenance staff are trained and developed to perform the essential skills needed to carry out their jobs effectively and safely.
- Analyze and evaluate complex issues associated with the machinery, and equipment used by the company; and, develop effective solutions to problems that arise.
Preferred Qualifications
- Five plus years directly related experience. PBM experience and / or experience within a mail order pharmacy is a plus.
- A minimum of five (5) years’ experience in an industrial supervisory or managerial capacity
Education
- Bachelor's degree in Management or Engineering field - Mechanical Engineering , preferred.
