About the role

The Senior Software Engineer (full stack) will develop software solutions and work with a team of developers responsible for building new proprietary digital tools/platform for Brado. You will work with leadership team to define software requirements and take the lead on operational and technical projects. The goal will be to develop high-quality software that is aligned with internal needs and business goals. 

While this is a remote position, ideal candidates will live near one of our collaboration centers in St. Louis, Chicago or the Dallas/Ft.Worth areas, so that they can be on-site with teams regularly.

Key Areas of Responsibility 

Collaborate with cross-functional teams and management to create new tools to support digital research.
Serve as a technical lead- contributing to and directing the efforts of development teams.
Make informed decisions quickly and take ownership of services.

Fluent in JavaScript, PHP, Laravel.
Extensive experience with SQL databases such as MySQL/MariaDB, MSSQL.
Experience with API testing techniques (i.e., Postman).
Experience with designing and implementing unit tests.
Knowledge with RestAPI, JSON.

Experience building CI/CD pipelines using Git, Jenkins, Azure DevOps, Bitbucket.
Develop tools and applications by producing clean, efficient code plus reviewing and debugging to create high-quality software design and architecture.
Design, develop, modify, implement, and support software components anywhere in the software stack.
Determine root cause for the most complex software issues and develop practical, efficient, and permanent technical solutions.
Remain current on modern technologies and available vendor packages; evaluate and make recommendations as necessary.

Work as part of a team of Software Engineers to allow for skill/knowledge development through advice, coaching, and training opportunities.
Determine process improvements, best practices, and develop new processes, documenting the development phases and monitoring systems.
Ensure software is up to date with the latest technologies.
Be a persistent, creative problem solver.

Requirements

5+ years of experience as a software engineer.
Bachelor's degree in computer science or related field is preferred.
Extensive experience with the following: PHP/Laravel, Github/Bitbucket, SQL Database (MariaDB) and React/Remix Framework.
Demonstrable understanding of software engineering best practices, including OWASP standards.
Experience with the full software development life cycle (SDLC), including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing and operations.
Ability to design and develop multi-tenant environments that support features such as theming, regionalization, and multi-lingual.
Software development and deployment experience in Microsoft Azure platform.
Experience with chat interfaces, web sockets, message polling.
Experience developing microservices architecture and Container Orchestration services including Docker, Kubernetes, and Azure Container Apps.
Basic knowledge of Azure resources and secure deployment of solutions in Azure utilizing infrastructure as code.
Basic knowledge of Databricks and other data science frameworks such as CosmosDB, Gremlin API, knowledge graphs
Strong OOP modeling skills.
Experience working on an agile team.
The ability to communicate clearly both orally and written.

Experience with relevant privacy regulations such as GDPR, HIPAA, HITECH.
Experience in communicating with teams to collect requirements, identify tasks, provide guidance and meet production deadlines.
Eagerness and willingness to learn modern technologies.
