Your Team
Global Accounting & Product Services (GAAPS) is a global servicing department within Technology and Operations that leads the accounting and operating control environment for BlackRock’s global commingled vehicles and separately managed accounts and provides various other administrative and oversight services to BlackRock’s various product ranges including the BlackRock mutual funds, iShares ETFs and Collective Trust Funds. Responsibilities include:
Oversight of internal and outsourced accounting, administration, custody, financial reporting, and transfer agency functions.
Board governance and reporting.
Product lifecycle management and business strategy enablement.
Technical accounting and regulatory reporting guidance.
Portfolio trade compliance monitoring and adherence to product and regulatory guidelines and policies.
Americas (AMRS) Product Oversight and Governance (POG) is a unit within GAAPS. AMRS POG teams are organized regionally to support the unique jurisdictional requirements and stakeholders for our various fund ranges. AMRS POG manages the fund level “structural” needs of the funds, including support to BlackRock business organizations and the Board of Directors/Trustees that oversee them.
As members of the AMRS POG team, we oversee the funds’ overall control environment and numerous business affairs in support of our funds. Working closely with several other internal teams, we deliver quality and value to our shareholders including but not limited to teams responsible for accounting oversight, financial reporting, product development, pricing, tax, legal and compliance.
The Cash Operations team is a crucial control function to the investment process ensuring that all BlackRock Cash data is accurate for investment management, analytics, compliance and regulation. We provide information services and solution to all BlackRock and BlackRock Solutions businesses, inclusive of Middle Office Outsourcing servicing.
Your Role and Impact
As the Americas POG Fund Treasury Director, you will provide leadership of outsourced functions including fund auditors, review performance of the service providers, and evaluate control environments.
Your Responsibilities
Review and challenge policies and procedures to help evolve the operating model to best practice.
Assess the operating model for risk and efficiency, with a focus on automation and technology.
Run periodic fund distributions processes with product development and tax teams.
Participate in the administration of credit facilities and other leverage instruments.
Product lifecycle engagement for launches, liquidations, mergers, and other structural events.
Prepare presentations to BlackRock governance bodies (e.g. fund boards) and committees.
Help in the investigation of operating events and coordinate with cross functional colleagues.
Advise our fund accounting and financial reporting functions on technical input and disclosures across all operational aspects.
Support the fund CFO with regards to Sarbanes Oxley certification requirements.
Build good relationships with business areas within BlackRock to support effective cross-functional engagement.
Ensure compliance with all relevant BlackRock policies and with regulatory requirements impacting the funds.
Lead key functions and special firm-wide projects.
You have...
At least twelve years of 1940 Act investment management industry experience with fund structures such as open-and close-end mutual funds, interval and tender offer funds, and exchange traded funds.
Strong understanding of US GAAP and SEC regulatory reporting requirements.
