About the role

Key Responsibilities

Active Directory

  • Design, manage, and support AD infrastructure (users, groups, sites, policies, authentication).
  • Troubleshoot domain controller, replication, GPO, and identity issues.
  • Manage AD security, access controls, and best‑practice hardening.

Office 365

  • Administer and support O365 services, including Exchange Online, Teams, SharePoint, and Azure AD.
  • Manage licenses, security groups, mail flow, and compliance settings.
  • Support identity synchronization (AAD Connect, Entra ID).

Microsoft Exchange

  • Administer hybrid or cloud-only Exchange environments.
  • Troubleshoot mailbox issues, transport problems, and connectivity issues.
  • Support migration projects (on‑prem → cloud).

Scripting & Automation

  • Develop and maintain PowerShell scripts for automation, reporting, and administration.
  • Build automated workflows to reduce manual tasks and improve efficiency.
  • Create documentation, runbooks, and reusable toolsets.

Operations & Support

  • Act as an escalation point for complex identity, messaging, or O365 problems.
  • Perform root cause analysis and propose long-term fixes.
  • Follow ITIL practices for incident, change, and problem management.

Required Skills & Experience

  • 7+ years of hands-on experience with Active Directory, Office 365, and Exchange.
  • Strong PowerShell scripting skills (loops, APIs, modules, automation).
  • Deep understanding of identity management, security, permissions, and access control.
  • Experience with hybrid identity setups (Azure AD Connect, Entra ID).
  • Solid understanding of networking basics (DNS, TCP/IP, certificates).
  • Familiarity with modern authentication (OAuth, MFA, Conditional Access).

Preferred Qualifications

  • Microsoft certifications (e.g., MS-102, AZ-104, SC-300, or older MCSE/MCITP).
  • Experience with: 
    • Email migrations (on‑prem to O365)
    • Intune/endpoint management
    • Automation platforms (Azure Automation, Logic Apps)
    • Power Platform (bonus)

Soft Skills

  • Strong communication—able to explain complex concepts in simple terms.
  • Problem-solving mindset and ability to work independently.
  • Ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams.
  • Detail-oriented with strong documentation habits.
