The annual base salary range provided for this position is a nationwide market range and represents a broad range of salaries for this role across the country. The actual salary for this position will be determined by a number of factors, including the scope, complexity and location of the role; the skills, education, training, credentials and experience of the candidate; and other conditions of employment. As part of our comprehensive compensation and benefits program, employees are also eligible for performance-based cash incentive awards.

1What Is the Opportunity?
Travelers' financial analysis team translates raw numbers into actionable insights to tell the story of past financial results and forecast possibilities into the future. The team acts as an independent party to collaborate with business partners and enable them to make informed decisions rooted in economic reality.This leadership position is a critical Financial Planning & Analysis role responsible for supporting all four markets in Commercial Accounts Group (Commercial Accounts, Technology & Life Sciences, Public Sector, and Excess Casualty). Commercial Accounts Group is the largest segment within Business Insurance with ~$9b in premium. The position will lead a team of 4. We have a wide audience of stakeholders that this position will support & interact with on a regular basis, including EVP & President of Middle Market, the VP leadership team & practice leaders, Regional Vice Presidents (RVPs), Field and Underwriting Leadership.
As a Sr Director, Financial Analysis, you will oversee the creation and presentation of financial reports for assigned business area(s) and present clear and concise insights to senior leaders to influence business decisions. As an influential partner to the business, you will help advance team objectives and business outcomes by interpreting, communicating, and applying analyses in a way that resonates with the intended audience. You will use your financial background and experience to lead finance professionals to accomplish project deliverables, develop and oversee reporting, and analyze reports for an assigned business or function while upholding the highest quality and control standards. This position will manage finance professionals.
What Will You Do?
- Synthesize reports generated into impactful exhibits, insightful results/observations, and actionable recommendations to influence business partners and senior management, ensuring quality control/accuracy.
- Review team members’ reports and provide guidance on accuracy and presentation.
- Design, prepare, evaluate, and validate advanced financial and operational reports to support tactical and strategic business objectives.
- Identify gaps and limitations in data sets and understand multiple layers of complexity with the ability to explain and recommend potential alternatives.
- Oversee, synthesize, and present exhibits, results, observations, and recommendations to business partners and senior management, including formal presentations, ensuring content aligns with broader business objectives.
- Engage with business partners to translate complex analyses to influence business strategy.
- Review competitor press releases, SEC filings, and industry trade press for helpful insights, linking opaque themes together and identifying applicability to departmental strategies. Push insights up to management in a timely manner by creating actionable insights to influence business strategy.
- Design and lead projects that analyze and implement the most complex business and financial regulatory changes relating to financial reporting, such as mergers and acquisitions, etc.
- Provide coaching, training, and mentoring.
- As a manager of people, provide leadership, coaching, training, planning, staffing, and performance management and development to employees, in addition to ensuring the understanding of departmental objectives, vision, and strategy.

What Will Our Ideal Candidate Have?
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or pursuing a Master’s in Business Administration with a concentration in finance or accounting or profession
