Registered Nurse - Noninvasive Cardiology

JOB DESCRIPTION:
Provides procedure tests with various modalities of stress tests and assists MD with moderate sedation for Trans esophageal echoes.
Collaborates with a team of card tech’s, cardiology fellows, sonographers and physicians to provide the right test for the right patient.
The staff nurse 11 functions as an essential member of nursing and multidisciplinary teams, providing direct care, instructions, and preparation for procedures in noninvasive cardiology. May take charge as operational needs allow.
EDUCATION:
Current RN licensure or compact licensure recognized by the State of Vermont is required. The University of Vermont Medical Center is moving toward an all Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) workforce. All external candidates hired into, or current employees promoted to, a RN position will be required to obtain their BSN as outlined in the terms of their offer letter.
EXPERIENCE:
Critical care, emergency department or Cardiology background minimum of 3-5 year experience required. EKG tele, ACLS & IV skills required (will train if needed). Must be able to read EKG tele strip’s as baseline.
