Supportability Engineering Specialist (NAVY Submarines)

Job Title: Supportability Engineering SpecialistLocation: Manassas, VA (On-site)Contract Type: 6-Month Contract to HireHourly Rate: $50 per hour
Key Responsibilities:Collaborate with engineering, logistics, and operations teams to assess the supportability requirements of naval systems, with a focus on submarines.Conduct analysis and modeling to evaluate system performance, reliability, and life cycle costs.Develop and implement supportability strategies, including maintenance plans, spare parts provisioning, and training programs.Identify and mitigate risks associated with system supportability, including obsolescence, supply chain disruptions, and maintenance challenges.Participate in design reviews and provide recommendations to optimize supportability during the development and acquisition phases.Monitor and analyze support metrics and trends to identify opportunities for improvement and drive continuous process enhancement.Provide technical expertise and support to internal and external stakeholders, including customers and subcontractors.Ensure compliance with relevant regulations, standards, and contractual requirements related to supportability engineering.Qualifications:Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Logistics, or a related field. Advanced degree preferred.3+ years of experience in supportability engineering, preferably in the defense industry.Experience working on naval systems, with a focus on submarines, is highly desirable.Proficiency in supportability analysis tools and techniques, such as reliability-centered maintenance (RCM) and failure mode effects analysis (FMEA).Strong analytical skills and the ability to interpret complex data and make data-driven decisions.Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.Knowledge of defense acquisition processes and regulations, including MIL-STD-1388 and NAVSEA Standard Items, is a plus.Must be able to obtain and maintain a security clearance.
