Our Gastroenterology office is located at 10 Main Street, Suite 2 in Florence, MA 01062. We are seeking a 40-hour Advanced Practice Provider (Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant) to support our office onsite Monday- Friday from 8:00am-4:30pm. Weekly schedules consist of 32 hours of clinical, patient-facing time, and 8 hours of administrative time. The 8 hours administrative shift can be worked remotely!

This APP will have their own panel of patients in addition to providing support to the practice's panel of patients in order to enhance practice operations, increase patient volumes, drive efficiency, and ensure excellent patient care and experience. This APP will handle traditional GI-related visits and procedural consultations. With this model, providers work autonomously up to the top of their licensure while also functioning as part of a team. Because patients typically come to us when they aren't feeling their best, it is incredibly important to us that our staff members strive to provide the compassion and emotional support our patients need.

Founded in 2003, our Gastroenterology office offers experienced care in all fields of gastroenterology to the entire Pioneer Valley. Our physicians and advanced practitioners are dedicated to providing up to date cutting edge care and we aim to integrate our care with other providers. One of our primary goals is colon cancer prevention. We offer highly skilled endoscopists. We also offer comprehensive care in acute and chronic liver disease, inflammatory bowel disease such as Crohn's disease and ulcerative colitis, celiac disease, Barrett's esophagus and upper gastrointestinal motility testing.

 

Job Summary

The Nurse Practitioner (NP) and Physician Assistant (PA) are licensed providers. The NP/PA is responsible for the assessment and management of various populations of patients, medical and/or surgical, including diagnostic and therapeutic interventions, development of appropriate plans of care and ongoing evaluation.

Essential Functions
-Provides direct care, counseling, and teaching to a designated patient population in the ambulatory, inpatient, operative, and/or procedural setting
-Performs complete histories and physical examinations
-Orders, interprets, and evaluates appropriate laboratory and diagnostic tests
-Develops appropriate plans of care and follow-up based on the outcomes of diagnostic, laboratory, and physical examination findings
-Consistently provides high quality and timely documentation including admission and progress notes, procedure notes, operative notes and discharge summaries
-Performs bedside procedures as are appropriate to the patient population
-Orders medications and writes prescriptions according to organizational and regulatory policies and procedures
