About the role

To qualify for the Electronic Industrial Controls Technician, you must meet the following requirements: Applicants must meet the following Screen-Out element, Job Element #1 to be considered for this position. Your qualifications will first be evaluated against the prescribed screen out element, which usually appears as question 1 in the online questionnaire. If your knowledge and ability in the SCREEN OUT ELEMENT below is not sufficient, you will receive no further consideration. The screen-out element for this position is: Applicants must meet the following: Screen-Out Element #1: Ability To Do The Work of the Position Without More than Normal Supervision. Applicants must have experience and training of sufficient scope and quality to independently perform the duties, which includes: -Working independently as an Electronic Industrial Controls Technician. -Dismantles, adjusts, repairs, and assembles equipment according to layout plans, blueprints, operating or repair manuals, rough sketches, or drawings. -Disassemble, test, and inspects electronic components when troubleshooting and repairing systems. -Use test and diagnostic equipment to perform checkouts. -Rebuild manufacturing equipment and perform equipment modification. -Verifies dimensions of parts, using precision measuring instruments, to ensure that specifications are met. In addition to the above Screenout the applicant must possess the following: REQUIRED CERTIFICATION(S): This position requires at least ONE of the following three Certifications: 1) Certification as an Airframe and Powerplant (A&P) Mechanic. 2) International Society of Automation (ISA) certification as Certified Control Systems Technician. 3) The National Institute for Certification in Engineering Technologies (NICET) certificate in electrical power testing, industrial instrumentation, and other specialties. OPTIONAL: Although this position does not have an educational requirement; possession of the following supports knowledge of practical application, and is highly desired, but not required: Possesion of an Associate degree in an ABET-accredited program in one of the following fields: Electro-mechanics/mechatronics, Industrial maintenance, or Process control. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. All qualification requirements must be met by the closing date of this announcement to be considered.
