Position Overview
The Illinois Department of Public Health is seeking a highly motivated individual to serve as the Division Chief for the Division of Disaster Planning and Readiness. The Division Chief is responsible for organizing, controlling, and managing the statewide Preparedness and Response programs and services for bioterrorism and other terrorist events including weapons of mass destruction. The Division Chief speaks on behalf of the Director and Deputy Director regarding Disaster Planning and Readiness. As a policy making official, the Division Chief develops and implements policies impacting the State’s Preparedness and Response Programs. The Division Chief supervises subordinate staff through lower-level management.
