Visiting Assistant Professor of Russian

The Department of German, Slavic, and Eurasian Studies at the University of Notre Dame invites applications for a Visiting Assistant Professor of Russian. This is a sabbatical replacement position for the spring semester, expected to be renewed for the duration of the 2026-2027 academic year. The ideal candidate will be able to teach Russian language at all levels from beginning to advanced as well as offer courses in literary and cultural studies. Teaching load will be two classes a semester. For spring 2026, we need replacement teaching for “Intermediate Russian II” as well as a first-year writing-intensive seminar on “Classics of Russian Literature.”

Qualifications

 The ideal candidate will have the Ph.D. in hand and have demonstrated excellence in undergraduate teaching, including not only literary and cultural classes but also Russian language.
