Under general supervision of a Staff OT Engineer, the intern will work in a variety of assignments to provide general support to the engineering group. The intern’s assignments will make a positive contribution to BD Medical as well as give the intern opportunities to gain “hands on” work experience with the intent of training the intern for the potential of starting a successful career after graduation.

Job Responsibilities: (Primary Duties, Roles, and/or Authorities) 

• Assist in organizing and categorizing OT assets by mapping IP addresses, MAC addresses, and VLANs to physical and logical asset groupings

• Contribute to the design and development of a network-based site map

• Work with the OT team to validate and refine asset inventory data, tagging assets with appropriate business, location, and functional metadata

• Assist with testing and validation of Apriso MES upgrade, assuring site databases and data are properly validated

• Support the OT team with collecting, cleaning, and preparing spreadsheet data for Power BI Dashboard development and Tenable.OT

• Assist in updating or creating new Power BI dashboards using AVEVA Historian

• Document procedures for asset categorization, network mapping, and dashboard creation

• Comply with all local, state, federal, and BD safety regulations, policies and procedures. 

• Comply with all local, state, federal, and BD safety regulations, policies, and procedures including RCRA Hazardous Waste regulations. 

• Comply with all local BD quality policies, procedures, and practices through consistent application of sound quality assurance principles. 

• Other duties as assigned.

Education and Experience:  

This position requires: 

• Enrolled in an accredited undergraduate or graduate engineering program, Minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale.  

• Must be able to work year-round.  Expected to work a minimum of 30 hours per week in the Summer and 15-20 hours per week during the school year. 

• Must be able to commute to BD Sandy, UT office.  

Preferred qualifications include: 

• Students in their Sophomore or Junior year preferred. 

• Preferred majors are Information Systems, Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or a related field

• Familiar with IP networking concepts (subnets, VLANs, routing)

• Exposure to Power BI, SQL, or data analytics tool is desirable

• Basic understanding of OT/ICS environments is a plus

• Programming languages (C#, Python, C++)
