In this pivotal role, you'll lead the charge in meeting and exceeding fundraising goals for BGCA's flagship national and regional events. The ideal candidate will be able to articulate and demonstrate their ability to secure high-dollar donations in excess of $1M, showcasing a proven track record of working with high-value donors and corporate partners. Success in this role requires a strategic mindset, an entrepreneurial spirit, and the ability to thrive in a highly matrixed, complex organizational structure. You must be adept at navigating cross-departmental relationships and aligning shared goals to deliver exceptional results.
Reporting directly to the Sr. Director, Fundraising Events, you will spearhead strategies that drive revenue for these marquee events by engaging corporate partners, donors, and volunteer leaders. You’ll collaborate across multiple teams and departments to create opportunities for companies to align their brand with BGCA’s powerful mission. As the driving force behind conference-related fundraising efforts, your success will shape the future of these transformative events.
This isn’t an event planning role, it’s a leadership position in fundraising, pivotal to BGCA’s mission and the success of our flagship national and regional conferences. Your primary focus will be generating new revenue streams while leveraging existing relationships to secure high-value corporate sponsorships. With a $2M target across 3-5 national conferences, you’ll play a critical role in advancing BGCA’s impact, collaborating across departments, and building partnerships that align with our mission.

This position is central to the success of both the Fundraising Events team and BGCA’s broader mission. As a leader in conference-related fundraising, you’ll balance entrepreneurial ambition with the diplomacy required to work within a matrixed organization. You’ll need a proven track record of navigating high-stakes environments, securing significant corporate sponsorships, and exceeding aggressive goals.
With a focus on new business development, including cold calling and high-value donor cultivation, you’ll shape BGCA’s ability to deliver transformative programs. Approximately 80% of your efforts will focus on identifying and winning new partnerships, while 20% will involve stewarding existing relationships.
What Success Looks Like
- Revenue Leadership: You’ll design and execute a fundraising strategy to meet and exceed a $2M revenue target for BGCA’s premier national conferences and events.
- New Business Development: Proactively identify, cultivate, and secure new corporate partnerships, with a focus on generating $1M–$5M in funding annually. Leverage your experience in high-yield fundraising and cold calling to drive significant new revenue.
- Collaborative Partner: Seamlessly navigate a matrixed organization, collaborating with internal teams and stakeholders who may share donor pools, ensuring alignment and minimizing friction.
- Strategic Communicator: Craft and deliver compelling presentations and proposals that resonate with high-level corporate partners and inspire long-term engagement.
- Relationship Builder: Build trust quickly with donors, committee members, and corporate partners, fostering relationships that are value-driven and enduring.
Revenue Generation
- Develop and execute a strategic plan to achieve $2M in annual revenue from 3-5 major conferences and events.
- Cultivate and secure new corporate sponsorships and partnerships, with a focus on generating $1M–$5M in funding annually.
- Engage high-value donors through personalized stewardship and innovative outreach, ensuring their continued investment in BGCA’s mission.
