Description
Avenue’s Traffic, Research, and Development team is growing our Taylorsville, UT office. - Team Leadership: Lead a team of engineers; providing guidance, mentoring, support, and professional development opportunities. Fostering a collaborative and growth-oriented work environment.
- Recruiting: Actively participate in the hiring process for new team members, ensuring the selection of qualified and motivated individuals who align with our culture and values.
- Business Development: Procure new contracts and clients by identifying opportunities, developing proposals, and maintaining strong relationships with existing and potential clients.
- Project Management: Oversee and manage transportation engineering projects, ensuring they are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest standards of quality.
- Regulatory Compliance: Help ensure all projects comply with federal, state, and local regulations.
- Client Engagement: Serve as a point of contact for clients, addressing their needs and ensuring their satisfaction with our services.
- Technical Expertise: Provide technical knowledge and guidance on traffic analysis, signal timing, communicating/interpreting data and traffic studies. Travel Demand Modeling (TDM), forecasting, solutions development, and EA/IACR support will also need to be provided. In addition, being an Engineer of Record for your own work as well as work completed under your direction.
- Strategic Planning: Contribute to the strategic planning and growth of all Avenue’s geographies, setting and achieving long-term goals.
- Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications
Education & Experience- Bachelor's degree in civil engineering or related field preferred
- Professional Engineering (PE) license required
- 10+ years experience preferred
- Good communication skills with the capability to effectively interact with internal and external stakeholders at all levels
- A strong interest in in traffic operations
- An understanding of national traffic standards and UDOT's standards
- Capable of analyzing and interpreting traffic data
- Willingness to learn, provide feedback, and receive feedback
- Proficient with Microsoft office suite, especially Excel
- Proficient with traffic analysis software packages such as Synchro, Vissim, and Cube
- Prolonged periods of sitting and standing
