About the Role

Wirecutter is seeking a marketing leader to drive marketing strategy and help make Wirecutter the go-to, trusted partner for anyone looking for inspiration and advice on what to buy. As the marketing leader for Wirecutter, you’ll scale Wirecutter’s reach, awareness, and consumer revenue. You would report to Wirecutter's Director of Commercial Strategy and help shape the trajectory of the brand's consumer business. You will help conceptualize and launch end-to-end marketing campaigns, developing strategies for capturing new readers, and engaging and retaining existing subscribers. You'll partner with creative, product, email, data analytics, and other teams at The New York Times to increase reader engagement and thus increase our overall product value. You’ll also work with marketing leaders and teams at The Times in a collaborative environment. This is a remote role.

Responsibilities:

  • Leadership: Act as the primary owner for full-funnel (awareness, engagement and conversion) within Wirecutter and with collaborators and stakeholders across The Times.

  • Strategy, positioning and messaging: Champion Wirecutter’s brand strategy and positioning within the product recommendation space and in the context of The New York Times.

  • Conversion and revenue optimization: Work in close collaboration with product, commerce and data & insights teams to contribute to affiliate revenue by testing paid media strategies.

  • Collaboration: Lead complex cross-functional teams to ensure alignment, clear communication, seamless integration and timely execution of deliverables.

 

Basic Qualifications:

  • 6+ years experience in digital marketing, integrated marketing or advertising strategy, including at least 4 years of end-to-end campaign management experience

  • 2+ years experience in brand communications and in stewarding the development of emotionally resonant creative work and media plans in partnership with agencies, internal creative teams and other partners

  • 2+ years of experience working with product and marketing teams on road mapping and setting priorities

  • 2+ years of experience implementing multi-channel digital acquisition and retention campaigns for digital products, with associated budget management

  • 2+ years of experience designing and implementing A/B tests to guide revenue/conversion optimization

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Passion for Wirecutter’s mission and commitment to be a part of our innovation and growth

  • Experience with data analytics, operationally oriented and metrics-driven

  • Experience working with multiple teams and stakeholders

The hourly rate of base pay for this role is:$62.50—$67.31 USD
