About the role
MSS Security is seeking a Casual Security Officer to join our team at a State Government Office in Hobart. This prestigious and high-profile role provides a unique opportunity to be part of an essential team safeguarding one of Tasmania's most important landmarks.
Duties include but are not limited to:
Conduct regular patrols of designated areas to ensure the premises remain secure and free from incidents.
Carry out static guarding duties as required.
Monitor and control entry points, verify identification, and conduct security screenings to prevent unauthorised access.
Accurately document any incidents or security breaches, ensuring they are communicated to the appropriate personnel.
Respond promptly and effectively to emergency situations, following established procedures.
Utilise surveillance equipment to observe the premises and report any unusual activity.
Ideal candidates will have:
A professional demeanour and the ability to communicate clearly and effectively.
The physical capability to conduct regular patrols and remain at static posts for extended periods.
A solid understanding of security procedures, particularly within a corporate or high-security environment.
Requirements:
Full Australian working rights.
Valid Tasmanian Security licence.
Certificate II (or higher) in Security Operations.
Valid First Aid and CPR certificates (or willing to obtain).
Working With Vulnerable People (or willing to obtain).
24/7 availability.
