About the role
Job Summary:
The Sr Finance, Manager is responsible for general accounting duties and contributing to the Month-End, Quarter-End and Year-End close process. This position works with a very high level of autonomy, recognizing accounting issues, raising these issues to Management and frequently proposing accounting treatment for non-routine transactions. Additionally, the incumbent is responsible for guiding, developing, and training other staff within the group including GL/AP/AR.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Perform ongoing general accounting responsibilities;
- Participate in the monthly close process including:
- Preparation of month-end journal entries
- Preparation of account reconciliations
- Prepare monthly financial statements and supplemental financial reports;
- Prepare quarterly and year-end audit schedules;
- Conduct analysis of significant month-over-month/quarter-over-quarter variances.
- Assist Sr Director of Accounting in improving and streamlining monthly close process.
- Document accounting procedures.
- Support AR/AP departments as needed
- coordinate and review their work
- report on performance for the purpose of identifying training and development opportunities for staff
- provide technical guidance and/or subject matter expertise for staff
- Perform special projects as requested.
Minimum & Preferred Qualifications and Experience:
Minimum Qualifications:
- Eight plus years of GL Accounting/AP/AR experience
- Must have knowledge about Accounting Systems
- Ability to be a team member and adept in building and leading teams
- Must be a self-starter; a “hands-on” individual who enjoys a challenge and is dedicated to getting the job done with minimal support and direction
- Must be detail oriented, very accurate and have the ability to multi-task
- Experience in working in both large structured and small entrepreneurial organizations; Sensitive to the constraints of a “start-up” operation and capable of working effectively in such an environment; Must have flexibility in reacting to new situations and adaptability for working in a new environment
- Must be PC literate and possess excellent organizational and communication skills
Preferred Qualifications:
- Knowledge of US GAAP standard
- CPA license
Education:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance is required.
Compensation: The Base Salary Range for this position is $125,000- 160,000. Actual placement within the range is dependent on multiple factors, including but not limited to skills, education, and experience.
