In this role, you will have a unique opportunity to support system design, develop mitigation strategies, and evaluate systems in major military platforms against high-altitude electromagnetic pulse (HEMP).

Responsibilities:

  • Advise design team on EMI/EMP related mitigation techniques

  • Generate functional Test Plans / Reports

  • Lead test evolutions with little oversight

  • Manage multiple subcontractor designs

Qualifications You Must Have:

  • Bachelor's of Science degree in Electrical Engineering or other related discipline and typically 2 or more years of relevant experience

  • Higher education may substitute for relevant experience

  • Experienced in MIL-STD-461 CS116 and RS105

  • Knowledgeable in EMI related mitigation designs and techniques

  • Knowledge of engineering principles and practices

  • Experience with Computer Aided Engineering tools

  • Familiarity with working in multi-disciplinary design and development teams

  • The ability to obtain/maintain a Top Secret U.S. Security Clearance is required

Qualifications We Prefer:

  • Understanding of MIL-STD-2169 and/or MIL-STD-3023

  • Aircraft level testing experience

  • Exposure to radiation effects on electronics

  • Experience in EMI/EMC modeling software

  • Exposure to simulations through functional and logical models and system analysis

  • Background in the Aerospace and Defense Industry

  • Experience composing and analyzing Electrical Load Analysis (ELA),  circuit modeling, simulation, and analysis

  • Familiarity with design requirements related to High Intensity Radiated Field (HIRF) and Indirect Effects of Lightning (IEL)

  • Knowledge of industry-standard electrical design principles, to include, but not limited to model-based definition, electrical component selection, manufacturing, and production processes

  • Understanding of Electro Magnetic Effects (EME) to include Electro Magnetic Compatibility (EMC) and Electro Magnetic Interference (EMI)

  • Experience in digital or analog circuit design and schematic capture

  • Understanding of the printed circuit board layout process and tools

  • A current active Secret or Top Secret U.S. Security Clearance
