Role – Build / DevOps Engineer
Location- Austin, TX (9 am-6pm CST) - ONSITE

Description:
Seeking a qualified Build/DevOps Engineer to implement Configuration Management and DevOps processes for our multi-release continuous integration of software deployments. This role requires a deep understanding and experience with various software and cloud environment configurations related to both system administration and software engineering disciplines. The candidate will plan, develop, execute, and support application builds, release processes, and maintain a source control system. They will proactively work with agile development teams to implement and operate best practices to resolve issues with build and deployment scripts, as well as WebSphere and portal configurations. The ideal candidate must be self-directed, a fast learner who enjoys a fast-paced team environment, and flexible enough to work with modern technologies or legacy components to ensure all pieces align correctly for safe and frequent code deployment from development to production.
Job Responsibilities:
- Responsible for maintaining, optimizing, and improving build and deployment systems.
- Set up and troubleshoot application configuration issues in WebSphere environments.
- Create and maintain tools and scripts to deploy and configure applications, and document and manage automated build scripts.
- Support and maintain branch merge processes in source control environments using Git tools.
- Assist clients in the maintenance and administration of build/release systems, incorporating new development application projects into existing build structures.
- Develop and enhance standards and policies around proper software delivery principles and encourage/promote CI/CD.
- Collaborate with developers to establish and ensure new environments meet requirements and conform to best practices.
- Apply experience with DevOps best practices to enable highly available and reliable systems and processes.
- Provide Subject matter expertise across cloud computing, infrastructure, IT operations, applications, enterprise architecture, data management, and cloud governance models with the ability to advise on industry-leading approaches
Required Skills:
- A minimum of 5 years of experience working with IT, DevOps, Configuration as Code (CaC) tools, infrastructure, and Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools with Agile/DevOps development teams, and at least 5 years of experience working with cloud technologies.
- Broad knowledge of major cloud technologies, including virtualization, containers, networking, etc., on different cloud platforms, with additional experience in IT and cloud technology architecture, service management, and resiliency being a plus.
- Broad design expertise across VPC design, IAM definition, OS tuning/configuration, database tuning/configuration, DevOps toolchains, provisioning automation, service management, operations, and security.
- Hands-on experience with Docker and Kubernetes container orchestration and management platforms, such as OpenShift or equivalent implementations.
- Experience in setting up CI/CD automation tools such as Git, Jenkins, Ansible, and cloud scripting such as Terraform and CloudFormation.
- Experienced in working with Jenkins and CI/CD pipelines.
- Experienced in working with WebSphere, including portal configurations, tuning, and deploying large applications, with in-depth troubleshooting experience of an application server in a J2EE context.
- In-depth understanding of Java technologies and coding concepts to develop an automated build process for compilation, build, deploy, alerts, and build reporting.
- Knowledgeable in scripting with one or more of the following: YAML, JSON, BASH, or Python.
- Extensive hands-on experience with Python and PHP on Linux-based platforms.
- Experience with evaluating new tools, technologies, and processes to improve the speed, efficiency, and scalability of the continuous integration environment.
