Prime Video is a first-stop entertainment destination offering customers a vast collection of premium programming in one app available across thousands of devices. Prime members can customize their viewing experience and find their favorite movies, series, documentaries, and live sports – including Amazon MGM Studios-produced series and movies; licensed fan favorites; and programming from Prime Video add-on subscriptions such as Apple TV+, Max, Crunchyroll and MGM+. We are looking for a Principal Technical Program Manager to drive the roll-out of our "better than broadcast" low latency solution, Sye, across new regions and devices. In this role, you will work with the Sye team and all the Amazon partner teams to deliver the vision of a high-quality, low latency, and perfectly synced viewing experience regardless of location.
Key job responsibilities
As a Principal Technical Program Manager, you will be responsible with ensuring that our different programs are delivered on time and with an experience quality that delights our customers. To do so, you will be responsible for coordinating work streams across numerous Prime Video teams, report to our leadership team on risks and mitigations and drive alignment for delivery. You will work closely with our technical teams to deep dive and audit technical designs and solutions to ensure short term and long term efficacy of our solutions.
A day in the life
You will independently lead broad cross-organization efforts from the early stages through release. You will be responsible for influencing organization roadmap priorities, system owners, and technical direction. You will own regular communication with senior leadership on technology, dependency management, risk mitigation and program health. You will guide the technical direction and decisions to deliver a solution that meets Amazon high standards for customer satisfaction, efficiency, stability, extensibility, simplicity, and operational excellence.
As a TPM at Amazon, you will also amplify your impact by educating and mentoring other Technical Program Managers around you on program management best-practices and will be actively involved mentoring more junior team members.
About the team
In this role you will be part of the Sye leadership team, reporting to the Head of Sye Streaming Solution. The Sye team is spread across three locations, Stockholm, London and Seattle and you will be working closely with several Prime Video teams both in London and Seattle. The Sye team has a start-up culture and we are very passionate about our solution and providing the best live event customer experience out there.
- 7+ years of working directly with engineering teams experience
- 7+ years of technical product or program management experience
- 7+ years of technical program management experience
- 5+ years of software development experience
- Experience designing or architecting (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems
- Experience managing programs across cross functional teams, building processes and coordinating release schedules
- Experience owning/driving roadmap strategy and definition
- Experience managing projects across cross functional teams, building sustainable processes and coordinating release schedules

Basic Qualifications
- 7+ years of working directly with engineering teams experience

- 7+ years of technical program management experience
- 5+ years of software development experience

- Experience managing programs across cross functional teams, building processes and coordinating release schedules
