Compensation

$30.11 – $35.80 hourly

The compensation range for this role is a good faith estimate, it is estimated based on what a successful candidate might be paid.  All offers presented to candidates are carefully reviewed to ensure fair, equitable pay by offering competitive wages that align with the individual's skills, education, experience, and training. The range may vary above or below the stated amounts.

What you’ll do

  • Complete required training and continuing education.

  • Apply company sales models to convert leads to sales by identifying the best-fitting products for prospects through both inbound and outbound call center structures.

  • Sell under and over age 65 products including Medicare Supplement, Medicare Advantage, and Part D.

  • Sell direct enrolled individual health insurance products.

  • Upsell additional insurance policies such as dental, life, cancer, hospital indemnity, disability, and travel.

  • Overcome sales objections and strategically position our products against the competition while maintaining integrity.

  • Successfully complete cold calls to generate sales leads with a goal of converting them to enrollment.

  • Meet or exceed monthly and annual sales goals.

  • Demonstrate department standards related to efficiency, measured through key performance indicators including outbound calls, call scoring, and close ratio.

  • Proactively conserve policies at risk of cancellation.

  • Plan and complete daily activities associated with the sales process.

  • Accurately complete various detailed reports at prescribed intervals, including tracking production in a driven environment.

  • Communicate relevant federal and state legislation, underwriting guidelines, and rating practices impacting Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Kansas and our clients.

  • Understand benefits, deductibles, coinsurance, waiting periods, product limitations, and exclusions for under and over age 65 products.

  • Understand non-group and group lines of business and regulations such as OBRA, COBRA, and MSP COBRA.

  • Maintain working knowledge of LTS/METS to ESM policies and procedures, minimize MTM errors, and meet company standards promptly.

  • Sign a non-disclosure agreement.
     

What you need

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities

  • Strong communication skills, integrity, and the ability to build positive relationships.

  • Ability to meet sales and overall performance targets.

  • Capability to acquire and maintain a license issued by the State of Kansas for Health, Accident, and Life Insurance. Ability to acquire and maintain Part D/Medicare Advantage and FFM certification annually.

  • Ability to handle fast-paced telephone duties, with a heavy emphasis during the last 10 days of the month.

  • Proficiency in making quick decisions 75% of the workday, updating a computer, and giving sales presentations simultaneously.

  • Preferred solid understanding of CSI, LTS, METS, and other internal operating systems.
