Position Summary

The Senior Manager, Factory Engineering position directs the engineering activities relating to the factory such that employee health and safety, product safety and the protection of the environment are never compromised and that all engineering activities enhance product quality, plant performance and the business objectives.  This position is also responsible for the development and implementation of the strategic vision of the factory in areas of manufacturing reliability.  Directly reporting to the Factory Manager, they are an integral member of the factory management team and responsible for people management for a team of exempt and non-exempt roles within Engineering. 
Management Responsibilities: 

•    Define, propose and monitor the implementation of the Factory Engineering teams plans and objectives in accordance with the Engineering Policy, Key Principles and the Key Engineering Activities as outlined in the Nestlé Engineering Excellence (NEE) master document. 
•    Propose and implement work processes, procedures and technical resources related to Factory Engineering.
•    Lead and manage the Factory Engineering team and maintain competencies, motivation and performance to achieve the teams’ mission and objectives.
•    Propose and control the Factory Engineering budget as well as the factory's capital investment plans and related capital expenditures.
•    Planning and managing all approved capital projects
•    Propose and monitor Factory Engineering in accordance with the key performance indicators. 
•    Demonstrate and promote the company's values within the Factory Engineering team.
•    Contributing toward the Strategic and Tactical Leadership of the factory and division overall.
 
Functional Responsibilities:
•    Ensure that there exists within the engineering team an attitude of absolute intolerance for unsafe situations. That all those in engineering are encouraged never to implement any change, whether directly instructed to, or under his/her own initiative, without first questioning its impact in relation to product safety/quality, people safety and the environment. No compromises should be tolerated.
•    Liaise daily with Production and Quality Assurance to resolve technical issues and to ensure optimal operation.  
•    Ensure implementation of Asset Maintenance Management as Factory Maintenance System:
o    Technical Stores Management 
o    Work Order Management and Labor Hour allocation
o    Equipment Bill of Material (BOM)
•    Drive the implementation of Maintenance Best Practices: 
o    Optimize Predictive Maintenance technologies (Condition Monitoring and inspections) to minimize unplanned downtime 
o    Utilize Planned Downtime for Scheduled and Condition-Based Maintenance
•    Initiate the implementation of new processes/technologies 
•    Safeguard ‘Product Mastership’ equipment related technical knowledge. 
•    Maintain and develop functional expertise in technical operations (Maintenance, Projects, Industrial Services, Store) by providing training and development programs
•    Initiate and drive Continuous Improvement (CI) to achieve industrial process and plant optimization.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s in Engineering, preferably Mechanical, Chemical, Process or equivalent experience and minimum 10 years related overall work experience with 8 years related factory experience highly preferred.
