New Horizons is the largest mental health and addiction recovery provider on the Treasure Coast (and beyond), serving 15,000 children and adults annually through inpatient crisis services, 24-hour help line and mobile response team, and outpatient programs conveniently located across Indian River, Martin, Okeechobee and St. Lucie counties. New Horizons is a nonprofit agency seeking a caring Sr. Mental Health Practitioner who is passionate in helping individuals mental wellness and believe that their efforts can make a difference in the lives of the people we serve.
As a Sr. Mental health Practitioner , you will Provide psychosocial evaluations, treatment planning and individual and multi-client counseling activities for assigned clients. You will maintain clinical and administrative documentation for assigned clients as prescribed by Agency Policy and Procedure and by governing law.
Additional responsibilities will include:
- Conducts psychosocial evaluations for new and existing clients
- Develops and maintains a written treatment plan for each client
- Conducts individual and multi-client therapy activities
- Leads and participates with team members in appropriate treatment interventions
- Conducts education, lecture and group discussions with clients and family members
- Ensures that appropriate discharge planning and aftercare services are provided for assigned clients

Requirements
New Horizons will need you to have the following qualifications:
- Master's degree from an accredited university or college with a major in counseling, social work, psychology, or a related human services field
- two years experience providing services to individuals with behavioral health disorders.
- In addition, the practitioner must have training in the treatment of mental health disorders, human growth and development, evaluations, assessments, treatment planning, basic counseling and behavioral management interventions, case management, documentation, psychopharmacology, abuse regulations, patient rights and special clinical circumstances such as emergencies, suicide, and out-of-control behavior
- Must be able to apply Therapeutic Effective Aggression Management (CPI/CARE) Techniques without limitations.
