Full-time Lecturer - Construction Management

The Construction Management Department in the College of Architecture & Environmental Design at California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo, is seeking a full-time lecturer for the 2024-2025 academic year, with the possibility of reappointment to an additional year based on department needs and satisfactory performance. Responsibilities include teaching undergraduate Construction Management courses.
Initial rank and salary for lecturer faculty are based on professional experience and educational background and are determined by the hiring department. Most new lecturers are hired at the Lecturer A or B rank. As of July 2024, the classification salary ranges for the respective ranks are:
Lecturer A: $5,507-$6,677
Lecturer B: $6,221-$13,224
Lecturer C: $6,825-$14,523
Lecturer D: $8,593-$15,211
Anticipated hiring range: $82,000 - $93,024 per year.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Requirements include a Master's degree in Construction Management or closely related discipline from an accredited institution or comparable institution, and five (5) years of relevant teaching experience and/or professional construction experience employed in increasingly responsible management positions primarily in the US construction or comparable industry.
The successful candidate must also have the ability to communicate effectively and work cooperatively with students, faculty, staff, and administrators from diverse ethnic, cultural, and socioeconomic backgrounds to foster a supportive and inclusive environment in and out of the classroom.
Demonstrated commitment to student-centered learning and teaching, as well as the ability to collaboratively work in multidisciplinary settings is required.
Demonstrated proficiency in written and oral use of the English language is required.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Preferred qualifications include: previous teaching and/or work experience in the areas of construction methods and materials, construction estimating and scheduling, construction contracts, and construction management; and demonstrated computer literacy with construction related software.
Preference will be given to those with demonstrated experience in working with diverse populations and fostering a collaborative, supportive and inclusive environment. Preference will also be given to those with relevant work experience and those who bring professional capabilities.
SPECIAL CONDITIONS
The person holding this position is considered a 'mandated reporter' under the California Child Abuse and Neglect Reporting Act and is required to comply with the requirements set forth in CSU Executive Order 1083 as a condition of employment.
