What You Will Contribute to Altos
The Altos Labs™ Scientific Computing & Data (SCD) group is leading the development of scalable data & insights products and solutions enabling research & development across Altos Labs. We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Senior Product manager to lead development of data and insights products for genomics, transcriptomics, epigenetics, proteomics, microscopy, and imaging data. Altos Labs™ is generating large amounts of multi omics and imaging datasets to better understand cellular rejuvenation and aging; in addition, we are forming external data collaboration enabling access to large biological datasets from institutions, national and international consortiums and other initiatives. As a Senior Product Manager, you will work closely with research teams at Altos Labs global research institutes to conceive, design, prototype and develop products providing full lifecycle management of scientific data, from data generation to processing and AI/ML model building for drug discovery. You will play a critical role in ensuring that we maximize scientific insight generation from each and every dataset that is generated internally or externally. You will partner with core facilities for genomics, mass spectrometry, microscopy, bioinformatics and computational teams to enable frictionless generation, processing and release of scientific data. You will play a pivotal role in advancing Altos Labs’ research efforts and driving the company’s mission.
Who You Are
Responsibilities
- Lead R&D product development for Data and Insights products working closely with wet lab and computational researchers across the company
- Collaborate with R&D teams to understand their needs and translate these into product and solution roadmaps, furthermore ensure that products being developed meet their needs and expectations
- Develop concise requirements based on the analysis of data generation, processing and analysis workflow across multi omics, microscopy and imaging modalities
- Establish long term vision for high quality data products that accelerate research across Altos Labs global research institutes and partners
- Define and prioritize products enabling end to end life cycle management, and utilization of scientific data across multi omics, microscopy and imaging modalities
- Partner with engineering, platform and architecture teams to oversee timelines and proper execution and rollout of the product & solutions
- Document and communicate product vision, status and progress during product meetings and other company forums
- Collaborate with key stakeholders to drive product adoption and use
Required Qualifications
- Masters or PhD degree in relevant field such as computer science, bioinformatics, molecular biology, biotechnology
- 8+ years of experience including significant experience in R&D product management with focus on data and insights products leveraging genomics, imaging, microscopy and mass spectroscopy data
- Experience and proficiency in working with high dimensional biological datasets in research and drug discovery context
- Solid working experience either of software development, bioinformatics analyses or data management
- Excellent analytical and problem solving skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Proven ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams and drive results
- Strong project management and stakeholder skills
- Curiosity and desire to learn
The salary ranges for this position are: San Diego $155,550 to $210 450; Redwood City $159,800 to $216,200
