Test Engineer (Electrical/Electrochemical)

Precision
Mountain View, United Statesfull_timeVerifiedPosted 13 Oct 2023

About the role

Our mission at Precision Neuroscience is to develop and commercialize brain-computer interfaces (BCI). We are pursuing a minimally invasive approach to BCI to address unmet clinical needs.

Brain-computer interfaces represent a new frontier in medicine and computing. As one of the leading companies in this space globally, we plan to bring life-changing technology to millions of people, and in doing so transform the ways we interact with machines, one another, and our world.

We are seeking a Test Engineer to join our Process Engineering team to work on essential components of our brain-computer interface (BCI). This position will suit someone who has a strong electrochemistry background and who enjoys working in agile, fast-paced settings.

This is an extraordinary opportunity to join our core team to help shape the future of our company. Your work will see commercialization quickly so that we improve the lives of patients who live with neurological disorders in a matter of months and years, not decades.

This position will be based in our Mountain View location. We are unable to consider candidates who are not currently in the US with working rights.

You will:

  • Under the guidance of our Head of Microfabrication, design and operate electrical and electrochemical test equipment and processes for the thin film, packaging and electronic sub-assembly components of our product.
  • Work with our Quality and other engineering teams to generate and maintain documentation associated with the product development cycle including requirements generation, risk management, and V & V.
  • Be responsible for the upkeep and calibration of instruments and ordering lab supplies.
  • Assist in the development of new materials or chemical/electrochemical processes.
  • Collaborate with the rest of our team to publish and present our work.
  • Communicate project updates on progress, risks, options, barriers and recommendations to technical and non-technical audiences.

Requirements

  • Masters’ degree or above in Chemical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Bioengineering, Neuroengineering or related discipline.
  • 3+ years’ experience working in similar roles. At least one of these years of experience should be in non-academic settings.
  • Experience with testing of electrochemical systems and devices, including use of equipment such as potentiostats, sourcemeters, and multichannel test equipment.
  • Expert in lab-based programming languages such as MATLAB, Python, LabVIEW or equivalent.
  • Experienced with building new test systems to specifications guided by the Head of Microfabrication.
  • Enjoys working cross-functionally in small team settings.
  • Demonstrated history of self-directed work with a strong sense of ownership and accountability.

Diverse workforces create the best culture, company, and products. We at Precision Neuroscience are committed to an inclusive culture that celebrates the uniqueness and contributions of everyone. As an equal opportunity employer, Precision Neuroscience does not discriminate on the basis of sex, race, religion, national origin, disability status, protected veteran status, or any other characteristic protected by law.
