Hardware/Software Engineer

Applied Research Solutions is seeking a Hardware/Software Engineer to support Wright Patterson Air Force Base, OH.  The Hardware/Software Engineer will provide support to the Agile Combat Support (ACS) Directorate’s Electronic Warfare Division (WNY).  This position will specifically support the Large Aircraft Infrared Countermeasures (LAIRCM) Foreign Military Sales (FMS) Program.

Responsibilities include:

• Hardware and Software Engineering Support: Provide engineering support for embedded software, cryptographic systems, and interoperability within sensor, weapon, host platform, and command and control systems.
• Software Analysis and Performance Evaluation: Conduct software analysis, assess Commercial Off-The-Shelf (COTS) and Government Off-The-Shelf (GOTS) interfacing, and perform performance evaluations of software systems.
• Software Architecture and Development Processes: Review software architecture, contribute to software development processes, and assist in the evaluation of configuration management tools and processes.
• Testing and Evaluation: Support the development, testing, and evaluation of new and existing software systems, including software test systems and capabilities.
• Systems Integration: Assist in the integration of systems and subsystems hardware and software, ensuring compatibility and interoperability across different components.
• Documentation and Compliance: Review, develop, and update program documentation to meet software engineering requirements, ensuring compliance with relevant standards and protocols.
• Software Development Strategy: Support the development of the Software Development Strategy and Software Development Plan (SDP) to guide the engineering efforts.
• Aeronautical and Avionics Systems Support: Apply knowledge of aeronautical vehicle systems and airborne or ground-based avionics to support software engineering tasks related to Operational Flight Programs (OFPs).

Qualifications/ Technical Experience Requirements:

• Must be US Citizen
• 10 years’ relevant experience and Master’s degree or better in engineering
• 12 years’ relevant experience and Bachelor’s degree in engineering
• Active DoD Secret or ability to obtain/maintain
