SUMMARY STATEMENT & PURPOSE: This position collaborates with the RN team to provide direct patient care both before and after surgery. This position functions within the RCW 18.360.050 scope of practice law.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITES:
- Prepares patients for examination including obtaining vital signs.
- Practices standard precautions.
- Observes and reports patients' signs or symptoms.
- Administers eye drops and topical ointments under the direct supervision of a health care practitioner.
- Prepares patients for and assists with lasers and procedures including pressure checks.
- Communicates with leadership team daily to ensure efficient work environment to include communication regarding problems, questions, scheduling, creative ideas.
- Ability to assist with patient transport.
- Performs opening, closing and on call duties.
- Assists in patient education.
- Record patient health history.
Requirements
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
· Medical Assistant Registered (MA-R) from the State of Washington within 60 days of employment.
· Knowledge of Microsoft Office products (Word) and internet software.
PREFERED QUALIFICATIONS:
· Previous medical assistant experience

· Regularly required to stand, walk, lift, pull/push, carry, grasp, reach, stoop/crouch, talk, and hear. Frequently required to sit. Occasionally required to climb or crawl.
· The employee must be able to lift and/or move a minimum of 15 pounds.
· Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision; ability to clearly see 20+ feet, with or without corrective lenses; peripheral vision; depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
Pay Scale: $18.00 - $27.00
