The Housekeeping Director is responsible for managing the operations of the housekeeping department and ensuring high standards of cleanliness and safety are met, contributing to the overall well-being of the residents, team members, and visitors. All responsibilities must be completed in accordance with Company policies and procedures, current standards, guidelines, and regulations.

Salary range: $70k

Responsibilities:

  • Plan, schedule, and manage housekeeping activities to maintain a consistently clean, safe, and comfortable living environment for residents.
  • Develop and implement effective housekeeping cleaning protocols to ensure high standards of cleanliness and sanitation are maintained throughout the Community.
  • Ensure compliance with state and federal regulations relating to housekeeping and sanitation.
  • Train and ensure team members follow safety protocols and proper handling of cleaning chemicals and equipment. Adhere to established safety regulations when using supplies and equipment at all times.
  • Ensure all common areas, grounds, and other facilities are clean, well-maintained, esthetically pleasing and the Community is always tour ready.
  • Conduct daily inspections of resident rooms, laundry facilities, administrative areas, and community grounds to ensure that housekeeping team members are completing assignments.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with vendors and suppliers to ensure timely delivery of cleaning supplies and equipment.
  • Responsible for adding new residents to the housekeeping and laundry schedule.
  • Interview, hire, monitor, motivate, reward, train, retain and counsel department team members in accordance with Company policy.
  • Prepare and deliver performance evaluations in a timely manner, according to Company policy.
  • Coordinate departmental schedule and ensure adequate staffing in accordance with Company standards, policies, procedures, budgets, and state law.
  • Arrange for coverage of job duties within the department during team member absences either through delegation or personal completion of duties.
  • Balance and maintain department budget and labor hours.
  • Monitor compliance with department’s budget through the effective and timely completion of Monthly Spend Down.
  • Ensure all necessary vendor invoices are processed accurately and timely and in accordance with all Company policies and procedures.
  • Implement policies as set forth by the Executive Director, Oakmont Management Group, and all required state regulations.

Qualifications:

  • Must be at least eighteen (18) years of age.
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Prefer two to three years of housekeeping or janitorial experience.

· Prefer one (1) year experience supervising and managing employees.

  • Able to safely operate standard household equipment (dishwasher, iron, vacuum, washer, dryer).
  • Knowledge of and/or ability to learn the theory and practice of assisted living and dementia care.
  • Able to work with seniors and patiently interact with cognitively impaired individuals.
  • Able to operate office equipment including copier, telephone, postage machine, time clock, medical alert system.
  • Able to adapt and respond to change, make decisions, and prioritize tasks and projects.
  • Able to read, write and speak the English language to interact and communicate effectively with coworkers, supervisors, physicians, health care professionals, residents, and their families.
  • Must be highly motivated and able to work independently.
  • Able to obtain and maintain valid First Aid, and CPR, as needed.
  • Must pass a Criminal Background check and Health Screening tests.
  • May require team members to vaccinate, participate in daily screening, surveillance testing, and to wear face coverings and other personal protective equipment (PPE) to prevent the spread of the COVID-19 or other communicable diseases, per regulatory guidelines.
