JOB SUMMARY
The Distribution Center Data Analyst is responsible for providing analytical insights and operational reporting to improve slotting efficiency, manage order backlog, support inventory control, and enhance labor planning accuracy. This position partners closely with Operations, Inventory Control, and Leadership to drive data‑based decision making that improves throughput, accuracy, and cost performance across the distribution center.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES (includes Other Duties as Required)
Analytical Responsibilities:
Analyzes slotting performance, SKU velocity, cube/weight profiles, replenishment frequency, and pick‑path efficiency to support optimized warehouse layout.
Monitors daily order backlog by age, order type, service level commitment, and processing constraints; provides root‑cause analysis and recommended actions.
Develops and maintains inventory accuracy reporting, cycle count performance dashboards, variance trending, and root‑cause analyses for inventory discrepancies.
Creates labor plans and staffing models using historical volume, forecasted demand, workflow standards, and productivity data.
Builds dashboards and reports (Power BI, Excel, SQL‑based reporting, or applicable company tools) to support operations leadership.
Identifies operational trends, constraints, and improvement opportunities using data from WMS, labor systems, transportation systems, and inventory control.
Produces and distributes daily, weekly, and monthly KPIs for DC Operations.
Attends and participates in regularly scheduled and impromptu meetings to support decision‑making.
Cross‑Functional Responsibilities:
Collaborates with warehouse leadership to implement slotting changes, process improvements, and accuracy initiatives.
Works closely with Inventory Control to resolve discrepancies, improve dock‑to‑stock time, and maintain high inventory accuracy.
Supports labor management teams with productivity analysis, engineered standard reviews, and workforce planning.
Partners with IT/WMS support to enhance reporting accuracy and test system logic or configuration changes.
Performs other related duties as assigned.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS

Education & Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Industrial Engineering, Business Analytics, Operations, or a related field required; equivalent experience may be considered.
2–5 years of analytical experience in a distribution center, warehouse, supply chain, or related operational environment.
Experience with WMS reporting, slotting tools, or warehouse data systems preferred.
Experience with SQL, Power BI or similar tools is desirable.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities, with the ability to translate operational challenges into data‑driven insights.
Thorough understanding of warehouse processes, inventory control practices, and productivity metrics.
Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced environment.
Strong organizational and time‑management skills.
Ability to maintain confidentiality of company information.
Excellent communication skills—capable of conveying analytical findings to both technical and non‑technical audiences.
