Home Health Care Speech Therapist (HHC ST)

Responsibilities

Job Summary:

• Delivers safe and competent Speech Therapy as ordered by a physician.
• Plans, organizes and implements specific treatment programs for individual patients according to the principles and practices of Speech therapy.
• Collaborates with the interdisciplinary treatment team.
• Supervises the work of support personnel.

Reports: Clinical Supervisor or Clinical Manager

 

Supervises: Home Health Aide

Qualifications

Required Education:

• Master’s degree (or equivalent) in communicative disorder/speech-language pathology from an American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA) -accredited educational program.

 

Required Experience:

• One (1) year of relevant job-related experience.

 

Required Certification/License/Registry:

• Current Florida Speech Therapist license. Provisional license may be accepted. Current Basic Life Support (BLS) or Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification from an accredited instructor from the American Heart Association (AHA). Current Florida class “E” driver license.
• Behavioral Criteria: Must provide a seven (7)-year driving record from the Department of Motor Vehicles with no more than six (6) points and no indication of poor driving habits. Must be 21 years of age or older.
• NOTE: Use of personal vehicle(s) required. Vehicle owner must maintain adequate insurance coverage for personal vehicle(s) used in conjunction with duties. Tallahassee Memorial HealthCare (TMH) will reimburse the business use of personal vehicle(s) in accordance with procedures defined by the Internal Revenue Service (IRS).
