We are seeking a talented Clinical Mental Health Court Navigator to join our team of nearly 500 employees. Mental Health Court Navigators are responsible for supporting justice-involved individuals with mental health needs who are currently in the community. Navigators play a vital role in enhancing services, fostering individual empowerment and planning or stability. Their support may include facilitating connections to mental health and community-based treatment, guiding individuals through the health system, assisting with housing and providing additional referrals as necessary. Not intended to be a long-term program, these voluntary services are not mandated but meant to be available and embedded within the court. Court Navigators will be located at the MCOMH Socio-Legal Center and work in close collaboration with all local courts.

MCOMH is seeking applicants with strong leadership skills who are motivated to take part in the building and growth of this program. The Clinical Mental Health Court Navigator role blends elements of case management and clinical assessment skills to ensure participants receive appropriate treatment recommendations, linkage to services, and guidance to community resources. This position is seeking a professional with a strong understanding of local mental health, social services, and criminal justice systems, and is considered the lead staff responsible for program operation and supervisor to other staff.  

CCSI is partnering with Monroe County Office of Mental Health (MCOMH) to hire a Clinical Mental Health Court Navigator. This position is employed by CCSI and working on behalf of MCOMH.

In this role, you will 

• Complete assessment of needs and strengths with the client, gather clinical criteria to formulate recommendations, determine any immediate safety or crisis needs 
• Receive and review referrals to program
• Determine need for caseworker and/or peer specialist involvement and assigns referrals as necessary
• Recommend adjustments to treatment plans, advocates for equity and system movement and equity
• Provide routine Supervision to Court-Based Mental Health Navigator team
• Demonstrate ability to complete all tasks and responsibilities that are being asked of the Court Navigators and conduct these responsibilities as needed
• Support Court Navigators through all aspects of their roles, including intake, assessment, engagement, closing, reporting, and documentation
• Review Court Navigators interventions and communication on a regular basis
• Be culturally responsive to the population being served in the development, design, monitoring, evaluation and/or implementation of programs and services. 
• Interview, hire and train Court Navigator positions as needed
• Communicate in a professional manner as a representative of Monroe County to all providers and partners, including to local County, City, and Justice Courts.
• Maintain standard operation procedure for Court Navigation Program.
• Have working knowledge of the local behavioral health and social services network to assist with matching individuals with appropriate resources to promote health, wellness, and recovery
• Support community education and/or training requests about program functions
• Provide direct and technical support for both Court Navigators and community partners in relation to the Court Navigator program
• Create and support data collection material and processes to ensure that program effectiveness and sustainability.
• Travel as necessary to fulfill responsibilities.

• Performs other duties as assigned
