Job Summary
The staff accountant will perform a variety of accounting tasks in accounts payable and job cost, with support from other accounting functions and departments.
Responsibilities:
• Perform a variety of general accounting tasks, including, but not limited to:
• Maintenance of accounts payable vendor data and compliance.
• Review vendor statements for accuracy and or missing invoices.
• Verifying accuracy of invoices and AP entry.
• Reconcile or note and report discrepancies found in statements or invoices.
• Compile data and run weekly, monthly, and quarterly reports as required by Finance and Operations.
• Manage Certificate of Insurance compliance for vendors.
• Reconcile and manage monthly credit card transactions.
• Any other special projects or duties as assigned.
Competencies:
• Clerical – Knowledge of administrative and clerical procedures and systems, such as word processing, spreadsheet maintenance, managing files and records, and other office procedures and terminology.
• English Language – Knowledge of the structure and content of the English language including the meaning and spelling of words, rules of composition and grammar.
• Customer and Personal Service – Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer and personal services. This includes customer needs assessment, meeting quality standards for services, and evaluation of customer satisfaction.
• Computers – Knowledge of computer software, including applications.
• Writing – Communicating effectively in writing as appropriate for the needs of the audience.
• Active Listening – Giving full attention to what other people are saying, taking time to understand the points being made, asking questions as appropriate, and not interrupting at inappropriate times.
• Reading Comprehension – Understanding written sentences and paragraphs in work related documents.

• Time Management – Managing one’s own time as it relates to the position and duties.

Requirements:
• Degree in Business Administration, Accounting, related area, or equivalent experience of 2 years.
• Effective Interpersonal skills.
• Strong written and verbal skills.
• Ability to recognize and resolve issues.
• Analytical skills.
• Conflict resolutions skills.
• Demonstrated ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality.
• Competency in Microsoft applications including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
