About this role

What will you be responsible for?
The Senior Engineer has a site-based scope and works with the regional Long Term planning function to support the site operations. The position reports to the Chief Engineer, Cripple Creek and Victor Operations and is responsible for the active management of the Cripple Creek & Victor mid-term planning delivery of forecast mine planning work packages, support of site-based studies, projects, and Full Potential activities.

The Senior Engineer key outputs include:
•Delivery of reliable, timely and well communicated quarterly forecast and budget mine planning results.
•Quality control of site based project outputs as they relate to Newmont business needs.
•Stakeholder management across site mine planning and other cross functional site teams.
•Identification and application of improvements associated with site opportunities and replication of best practices acquired from other sites.

In addition, the Senior Engineer will:
•Be responsible for delivery of key site deliverables supporting facilities design, scheduling, and optimization.
•Provide technical Risk and Opportunity characterization at the mine site level for projects, forecasts, and business plans.
•Partner with the site long term planning team and Chief Engineer/Technical Services manager to produce a quality rolling forecast production plan, allowing the site team to focus on execution of the plans. Main objective is to produce a rolling forecast production plan which incorporates key strategic short term and long term projects for profitable mine longevity and maximum fleet productivity for each rolling forecast cycle, with transparent risks and opportunities identified.
•Develop schedules and presentations utilizing BPC for rolling forecasts, long term planning talent under the guidance of the Regional Lead and SME/governance group. 

Essential Duties:
•Provide visible and felt leadership in support of health, safety, security, and S&ER programs.
•Responsible for the generation of timely and accurate rolling forecast planning work packages at the site:
o    0+12, 2+10, 5+7 and 8+4 forecasts’ planning.
o    Accountable for 24 to 36 months of Business Plan Physicals and associated documentation in collaboration with the long term planning Engineer.
o    Short and Mid-term supporting facilities design and planning, +3 years infrastructure and support for reclamation and closure planning.
o    Ensure key Business Plan input assumptions and outputs are aligned with those utilized for rolling forecast and the site strategy. 
•Execute mine planning standard procedures, guidelines, standards, best practices, and planning improvement initiatives at the site, including consideration of safety in design.
•Support and collaborate with the site short term mine planning teams in the generation of the weekly and monthly portion of the mine plan to ensure reconciliation between short term, mid-term, and long term plans for the site.
•Work with site Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) and long term group to adopt and evaluate new mid term planning process and tools to improve mid term planning practices.
•Support site projects and studies work and support strategic components of Full Potential and Sustainability and External Relations (S&ER) work as required.
•Understand and perform unit cost analysis with emphasis on fixed/variable costing, benchmarking, and optimization.
•Build and maintain trust and credibility with key stakeholders including the site Mine Operations, Process Operations, Site Business Manager, and site functional teams.
•Work with the mine-site geological, geotechnical, metallurgical, geostatistical, and S&ER teams to align, consult, and inform on key work package deliverables.
