The Opportunity:

As the Medical Assistant (MA), you will work under the delegation of a licensed practitioner to perform duties as directed to assist in providing basic patient care to assigned patients. Basic patient care needs will be met through both administrative and clinical duties. You will be expected to perform in accordance with established policies, procedures, and regulations.

The Medical Assistant will join WSU Health to support the assigned Logan Family Clinic, located in Spokane, WA. This position may provide crossover support to other clinics and services of WSU Health, including those on and off-site of the WSU Spokane campus. The Medical Assistant may perform duties of a Patient Services Representative in a backup capacity.

The Logan Family Clinic is located at Logan Elementary School in Spokane and provides comprehensive, patient-centered care for community members of all ages. All aspects of family medicine services are offered including annual checkup, vaccinations, chronic condition management and illness and injury care.

This is a full time (100% FTE), permanent position. This position is overtime eligible.

Monthly Salary: $3,665 to $4,882 (Steps A-M) | R041 | Successful candidates are typically hired at the beginning of the salary range and receive scheduled salary increment increases in accordance with WAC 357-28.

In accordance with RCW 49.58.110, the above salary reflects the full salary range for this position. Individual placement within the range is based on the candidate’s current experience, education, skills, and abilities related to the position.

Required Qualifications:

  • Completion of a Medical Assistant course accredited by the American Association of Medical Assistants or the Committee on Allied Health Education and Accreditation (CAHEA); OR high school graduation or equivalent AND one year of experience providing direct patient care in a health care setting; OR equivalent education/experience.

  • Hold or ability to obtain Washington Medical Assistant Certification.

  • Ability to obtain National Provider BLS -American Heart Association.

  • Experience with measuring and recording patients of all ages vital health statistics.
