As the Enablement Director for Workers Compensation, you will play a pivotal role in transforming operational processes and procedures across the team and the enterprise. This strategic position is responsible for identifying inefficiencies, designing scalable solutions, and fostering alignment across departments to streamline daily tasks and enhance overall program effectiveness.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Enterprise Collaboration: Partner with cross-functional teams—including Claims, Underwriting, Risk Management, IT, and Compliance—to identify common challenges and develop unified solutions that improve consistency and reduce redundancy.
  • Process Transformation: Lead initiatives to re-engineer workflows, automate routine tasks, and implement best practices that drive operational excellence and improve the underwriter and program administrator experience.
  • Enablement Strategy: Develop and execute enablement strategies that support the adoption of new tools, technologies, and procedures across the Workers Compensation programs.
  • Change Leadership: Serve as a change agent by promoting a culture of continuous improvement, innovation, and accountability.
  • Performance Metrics: Establish KPIs and feedback loops to measure the impact of enablement initiatives and ensure alignment with organizational goals.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Facilitate regular communication with internal stakeholders to gather insights, share progress, and ensure transparency throughout transformation efforts.
  • Compliance: Lead efforts with state market exams, audits and other regulatory compliance issues as they arise; create a proactive culture to minimize penalties/fines

Ideal Candidate Profile:

  • Proven experience in process improvement, enablement, or operational strategy within the insurance or workers compensation domain.
  • Preferred knowledge of Nationwide WC Program systems and processes
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a track record of driving cross-functional initiatives.
  • Excellent communication and leadership abilities, with a focus on collaboration and influence.
  • Familiarity with change management methodologies and enterprise-level project execution.

This role does not qualify for employer-sponsored work authorization.  Nationwide does not participate in the Stem OPT Extension program.

You'll direct the activities and staff responsible for providing business performance management, organizational design and business risk management capabilities to formulate pragmatic, forward facing and meaningful business transformation plans.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Directs all activities for team involving business transformation through the strategic application of people, processes and technology. Team participates in business planning processes across multiple departments or business units by identifying complexities, dependencies and duplications.

  • Manages staff who consults on business process analysis, organizational analysis, needs assessments and cost/benefit analysis to align technology solutions with business strategies and directions.  Consults with functional groups within Nationwide Technology and internal business clients to develop short- and long-term systems plans. 

  • Leads associates involved with process management and consultation between business customers and systems area for development and implementation of new business processes and procedures. Responsible for communicating to customers, management and external sources.
