Job Description
JOB SUMMARY
Performs general clerical and reception services to program administrative staff. Provides customer service and office support both in person and over the phone.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
One (1) year of relevant clerical or general office experience dealing with the public. Must be proficient with word processing and spreadsheet software.
Due to the nature of this position, the successful applicant must pass a required pre-employment background check and subsequent mandatory background checks in accordance with current County Human Resources policy requirements.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

- Greets and acknowledges all customers either by phone or in-person.
- Gives general information and assistance on aspects of division programs.
- Acts as receptionist. Receives and screens customer telephone calls.
- Receives, distributes and routes incoming and outgoing mail.
- Operates computers, printer, copier, and fax equipment.
- Types staff meeting minutes, distributes agendas, and advises staff of meeting date, time, and location.
- Types correspondence, prepares reports, forms, and specialized documents.
- Performs office support activities, receives, sorts, and distributes mail; orders office supplies; performs inventory of center and ensures control of supplies.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSA)
Knowledge of:
• Basic arithmetic calculations• Modern office practices and procedures
Skills and Abilities to:
• Work with computer software related to job specific duties• Operate standard office equipment• Produce written documents, forms, and charts• Communicate effectively in English both verbally and in writing• Perform excellent customer service and work cooperatively within a team environment• Create and maintain records, files, and reports• Understand and follow broad objectives and instructions• Gather and condense relevant and useful information• Work with minimum supervision and act independently
TEMPORARY POSITIONS:
An "At Will", FLSA non-exempt employee who is not eligible for County benefits and who must work an average of 29 hours or less per week or an average of 129 hours or less per month.

- Are not eligible for County benefits except as otherwise provided for by policy.
- Are not considered merit employees.
Are "at will" employees who may be terminated for any reason, without notice, and without a pre-termination hearing.
