Junior Accountant
This job is hybrid (3 days onsite) in one of our COE locations: Tampa, FL; Denver, CO; DC metro area, SF Bay Area, or Austin, TX
Deepwatch is seeking a highly organized and goal-oriented professional to join our team as a Junior Accountant. The ideal candidate thrives on constantly learning, completing task lists, and achieving measurable goals. This role requires a proactive individual with excellent time management skills, a strong work ethic, and the ability to drive results in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
This individual will perform billing, revenue, debt, and equity processes at Deepwatch. Please be excited to share your experience with various accounting issues and demonstrate an eagerness to exceed expectations. This role is perfect for someone eager to grow, develop their expertise, and step into a future Senior Accountant position.
In this role, you’ll get to:
- Maintain the Maxio billing and revenue platform
- Maintain the Avalara sales tax certificate database
- Process sales orders, invoices, and purchase orders
- Assist in various monthly closing activities to meet a five-day close cycle
- Comply with Internal Controls and Processes
- Participate in the preparation and completion of the annual financial audit
- Assist with ad hoc projects as needed, including but not limited to equity accounting, debt covenant analysis, and other reporting requirements
To be successful in this role, you’ll need to:
- Have a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance (CPA preferred)
- Demonstrate a strong understanding of Accounting theory - specific experience with ASC606, SaaS revenue, and Gross vs Net principal is highly desirable
- Have 1-2 years of experience
- Meet a five-day close cycle
- Be available the last business day of the month
- Be available and online 8:30 AM - 5:30 PM ET
- Have exceptional organizational and time-management skills
- Possess a proactive attitude and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively
- Give strong attention to detail in all matters
- Possess a high degree of integrity
- Work and communicate effectively with all levels of the organization
- Must be willing to learn, adapt, and step out of your comfort zone
- Demonstrate proficiency in productivity tools such as Netsuite, Maxio, Floqast, Avalara and Salesforce
The anticipated salary range for this role is $70,000 to $87,500 + stock options + benefits. Actual compensation may vary from posted hiring range
