JOB PURPOSE:
The Senior Research Information Systems Analyst provides specialized support in the management, configuration, and optimization of research administration systems for the Office of Research. This role collaborates with the Senior Director of Research Information Systems to support integration efforts, maintain system efficiency, provide user assistance, and facilitate research operations by enhancing system functionalities.
SUPERVISORY AUTHORITY:
May mentor or train junior staff as assigned.
NATURE AND SCOPE:
Will support the Office of Research (OOR) leadership team as needed. And will engage with internal stakeholders across the university and external contacts, including industry and higher education partners, to advance and advocate OOR Research Administration Information Technology needs.
PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES:
System Maintenance and Optimization (15%):
- Assists in the configuration, maintenance, and performance monitoring of research administration systems (e.g., Cayuse, Workday).
- Ensures that systems remain compliant with research and institutional policies and meet operational needs.
User Training and Support (25%):
- Develops training materials and conducts system training sessions for research faculty, administrative staff, and stakeholders.
- Provides frontline technical support, troubleshooting issues, and offering guidance for system users.
Data Management and Analysis (20%):
- Works with IT teams to integrate research administration systems with institutional platforms.
- Analyzes system data to generate insights and support decision-making related to research administration processes.
System Customization and Enhancement (15%):
- Identifies opportunities for system improvements and coordinates necessary customizations to enhance user experience and meet research requirements.
- Regularly evaluates and implements updates and new functionalities in alignment with organizational needs.
Documentation and Reporting (25%):
- Prepares and maintains detailed documentation of system configurations, processes, and training protocols.
- Generates and presents reports for compliance, audits, and program evaluations.
