Join Cenovus Energy as the driving force behind the downstream operations! As the Senior Specialist, Downstream Operations, you will be a recognized expert in the field, demonstrating your extensive experience in developing and implementing world-class operating standards. You will play a crucial role in ensuring the flawless execution of our Operate Right model by leading cross-functional teams and encouraging a culture of operational excellence. Preference given to individuals who currently reside in or can relocate to the Ohio area.

What you’ll do:

• Lead the development and implementation of key operating fundamentals and assurance for the Operate Right model

• Drive cross-functional collaboration to ensure alignment with Cenovus’ long-term objectives

• Champion and steward the operational excellence model, ensuring strategic alignment with both immediate and long-term goals

• Partner with Technical & Project, HSSE, and other peers to deploy operations fundamental improvements and standards

• Develop comprehensive implementation plans, including gap assessments and targeted improvement plans

• Coordinate the delivery of standard methodologies, bringing to bear change management tools to ensure balanced improvements

Who you are:

• Legally authorized to work in the US

• 20+ years of experience in refining operations, with a strong track record of leadership and operational success

• 10+ years of specialized experience in key operating fundamentals

• Proven experience leading large-scale operational transformation and standardization initiatives.

• Deep knowledge of operational fundamentals, including Alarm Management, Operating Procedures, Operator Care, Shift Handover, Operating Limits, etc.

• Demonstrated experience in operations leadership, risk management, and process safety engineering within complex operating environments
