Operations General Supervisor

Context:
Provide daily leadership for the management of all production related activities in the assigned department in support of the overall business goals and objectives.
Primary Purpose
- Provide the necessary daily leadership and direction to direct/indirect reports to foster a safe and efficient operation
- Responsible for actively supporting and advocating safety, quality, productivity, maintenance, and continuous improvement
- Operations oversight includes 5 salary and 100 hourly personnel
- Must have at least 5 years of operating experience in manufacturing
- Develop and maintain daily operations for optimum flow
- Knowledge of internal customer requirements
- Understanding of equipment capabilities
- Strong quality commitment and problem-solving capabilities
- Understand and advocate key process indicators to support the operating budget
- Must be able to manage multiple projects at the same time, have a good understanding of the labor agreement and be a leader of his/her Supervisors, developing them into competent, self-sufficient Managers of their employees.
Key Accountabilities
Responsible for the safety, production, quality, and continuous improvement of the assigned unit
- Achieve operating results for all key process indicators
- Proactively Manage operations to ensure a good quality product
- Continuously assess and evaluate for improvement opportunities
- Solve problems, identifying root cause(s) and corrective actions
Responsible for hourly employees (indirect) and salary employees (direct)
- Maintaining manpower necessary to meet production demands: operating shifts, training, safety, and work environment
Responsible for the enforcement of company policies and procedures
- Achieve plant objectives by oversight to support a safe and efficient operation
- Leads by example
Leadership competencies, technical skills requirement
- Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent work experience
- Requires 2 to 5 Years’ Experience in a supervisory roll
- Requires Strong Leadership Skills

- Strong Management Skills in a Union Labor Environment
